At Douglas OHI, we believe that a well-trained workforce is essential to maintaining a safe, efficient, and forward-thinking work environment. As part of our ongoing commitment to upskilling our teams and embedding a culture of continuous learning, we recently partnered with accredited third-party providers to deliver specialist training across key operational areas.
The training programme included:
• Basic First Aid at Work
• EEBA (Emergency Escape Breathing Apparatus)
• Bar Bending & Bar Cutting Machine
Each session was carefully selected to address specific on-site risks and ensure our workforce is equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to respond safely and effectively in a range of scenarios.
The Basic First Aid at Work training focused on developing life-saving skills, empowering employees to act swiftly and confidently during medical emergencies. Meanwhile, the EEBA training provided critical instruction on the correct use of emergency escape breathing apparatus - essential for the evacuation purposes during emergency situations like accidental release of H2S or Hazardous gases in live areas. The Bar Bending & Bar Cutting Machine Training addressed the safe operation of equipment used daily in reinforcement works, ensuring all operators understand both functional handling and emergency procedures.
By investing in expert-led training, we’re reinforcing Douglas OHI’s strong safety culture while supporting employee development. This initiative not only strengthens our operational resilience but also reflects our commitment to meeting the highest standards of Health, Safety, Sustainability, and Environment (HSSE).
As we continue to grow across the UAE, Oman and KSA, such programmes play a vital role in ensuring that safety remains at the core of everything we do – protecting people, enhancing performance, and building capability across all levels of our organisation.
