Who is Dougie and What Does He Do? More than a mascot, he’s a symbol of our commitment to health, safety, and sustainability. As the face of our HSSE initiatives, Dougie will champion best practices, raise awareness, and promote a safer working environment.
A Legacy of Care: Why the Name ‘Dougie’? Dougie’s name honours our company’s roots. He originally worked with RM Douglas Ltd. in the UK, a company that became part of Douglas OHI in Oman. In the UK, RM Douglas was affectionately known as “Dougies” to many of its employees. Dougie reflects our legacy of operational excellence and care.
Dougie’s Mission and Role Dougie’s purpose is clear: to connect with employees, workers, and their families, fostering a culture of safety and wellbeing. He’s here to make safety engaging, accessible, and memorable through creative initiatives and interactive campaigns.
Licensed to Care: Check No. DO 007 Officially registered as DO 007 — licensed to influence — Dougie is ready to lead with compassion and a safety-first mindset.

What’s Next for Dougie? Expect to see Dougie on-site and in the office, sharing important safety messages through inductions, posters, and the It’s OK programme. He’s also developing a Douglas OHI-themed colouring book for children and organising competitions and prizes for families.
